Honey Bee Goddess Mug

A small collection of goddess mugs, each of them very different in their character.
 
This is the Honey Bee Goddess, inspired by the soft beauty of the honey bee, the busiest of little creatures. On a recent bee keeping course I was struck by the knowledge that it is the female bees that do the lions share of the work, the male bees there to only to mate with the queen bee and then die. The bee's we see out among our blooms are the oldest of the female worker bee's, sent out on their final missions to bring sweet nectar to the hive. Their story resonates deeply within many of us human females, the story of the hardworking honey bees, their creations of the sweetest of natures gifts, but given at huge effort and resilience. 
 
Thrown on the wheel then the face sculpted into the surfaces, details hand made. This mug is glazed in a satin honey glaze, thick and creamy in it's layers of texture and depth.
