The Studio
My home studio is currently set up in two places- the light and airy conservatory and secret garden shed. The conservatory has my wheel and some storage for drying anything I create. It's the perfect place to feel closer to the outdoors with plenty of natural light and being part of the house I can comfortably get creating while my daughter naps or when it's too dark and chilly to venture to the shed.
The shed has been converted so it has a roof window, french doors and vinyl flooring. This is where I fire my creations in The Old Gent of a Harrison kiln (fully lined with fireproof sheets), and mix my glazes from scratch. I use recipes to mix up raw materials, and colourants, experimenting until I get delicious colours and textures to add to bisque ware.
