Little Yule Mother VI

Cut from the same clay as my large Mother's night and turned into ceramic in the same firing kiln, these little sisters are part of a circle of mothers. There are just 8, and although they will travel to separate homes, they will forever be part of the circle of mothers. They are each hand sculpted in my earthy clay and so each unique. They are finished with 22 karat gold accents. 
 
They come with a small dish, with crackled glass within in. Some are red, some are blue- the colour will be chosen at random. Receiving red could represent the monthly flow, the blood during birth or the red berries at yule time. Blue could represent the ice hard endurance of our ancestors, the returning light to our skies, or the blue associated with the mother Mary. However you interpret it, I hope you find some comfort in the colour sent to you. Incense or a candle can be burned in the dish but take care as they do get very hot.
